In an effort to bolster holiday sales, Nintendo has announced two 3DS bundles. The first bundles will have Super Mario 3D Land packaged with a Flame Red 3DS. The second bundle, and the more exciting one in my opinion, will have a unique Comso Black 3DS adorned with gold designs and the Hyrule crest and a copy of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time thrown in. These bundles will both be priced at 199.99 USD's (still less than I payed for my launch device) and available November 24th. By Griff Hoffmann

For all the Nintendo 3DS devotees it's time to claim your reward. Well, half of your reward. If you haven't already, you can download 10 NES Virtual Console Games onto your 3DS. The games are Super Mario Bros., Donkey Kong Jr., Balloon Fight, Ice Climber, The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, NES Open Tournament Golf, Wrecking Crew, Zelda II - The Adventure of Link, and Yoshi. The problem is how to claim your prize. Nintendo has provided a very nice guide hidden deep within their support site. Here it is excavated for your convenience.
After nearly three months from its North American launch, the Nintendo 3DS will be getting a much needed update. This update will be available to download through the device come June 6. The update will feature the opening of the online store Nintendo eShop and add an Internet Browser to the 3DS.
The Nintendo 3DS has been out in North America for less than a week and already a new term has been coined for a system crashing error screen. The "Black Screen of Death" has begun to plague early adopters of the new handheld device and Nintendo isn't offering much of a solution. The following statement from Nintendo to Eurogamer has been the only solution/acknowledgment of the problem so far: "If anyone is experiencing any problems with their Nintendo 3DS console, we recommend that in the first instance they download and install the latest system update, now available online," Followed up with: "If the problems still persist we recommend they contact their local Nintendo Customer Service center to investigate the problem further." Though this isn't unique with a new hardware launch it is disconcerting that internet hearsay suggests that the suggested solution isn't as successful as hoped. Since this handheld is still less than a week old, the retailer where the device was purchased will probably be more help replacing the device than Nintendo. Keep in mind this device is new and with all things new there will be kinks to iron out, the good news is Nintendo is aware of it. By Griff Hoffmann
